Wow! What a success! To the staff and management at Nicks…bravo on a job well done! To my diners, y’all were awesome and I don’t think anyone left hungry. Thanks for attending!

There were so many foods to sample and it was crazy. As for my favorite dish, it was the clam pizza, too. The first time I had it was right after they first opened. At that time, I thought it was too salty. Not anymore! The garlic and lemon cut right thru any salt flavor…It’s very addicting and the crust is so thin. It’s hard to believe it holds up to the clams, cheese, and garlic. There is no way, no matter how skinny you are, or if you are watching your weight, you could just eat one slice of this pizza. Good stuff.

I didn’t get to try everything, but most of the items I’ve had before. I should have named this Dining With Alli I Cook as suggested by Chef Mike! I wanted to mention that the manager at Pasquales on Royal Palm in Coral Springs, Brandon, was my VIP. My wife and I treated him to dinner and I’m glad he was my first special guest. He’s a good young man and a super nice guy…stop by at Pasquales and say hello to him.

I was truly blessed with the turn out. Thanks again to everyone who came out, Nicks, and all the staff who made my first event a special one.

A little note to the Yelp Eiltes that hate me, none of my diners are on Yelp and all of them paid to eat….nothing was free. Just a suggestion to all Yelp Elites, you shouldn’t ever accept free meals and drinks at your ELITE ONLY events. Your goal should be to support local businesses like the Unofficial Yelp Events or UYEs. The non-Yelp Employees AKA Yelpers should always pay. BTW, as you can see Glenn, I’m far from being all alone:)

Lastly, my next Dining With Dan I Cook will be at Arun’s Indian Kitchen on February 14. I spoke with the owner and we worked out a great price and a tasty menu. This event will be limited to 14 diners. The place only seats 17. When I get more information it will be posted. Happy New Year and Stay Hungry!

    Scott’s favorites:
Portobello Mushroom Salad – very good flavor and the dressing was the perfect amount.
Broccoli Rabe and Sausage – just enough spicy and really good flavor in the sausage

    Dawn’s favorites:
Portobello Mushroom Salad – loved the whole combination of the mushroom, peppers, and feta. Could of had this a as a meal by itself
Crispy Polenta – loved the cheesy crispy outside with the flavor

Delightful night! It was great to be able to try the best of Nicks. I loved the atmosphere, the waiters were on point never missing a beat. I had so many delicious dishes in one seating I can’t choose just one. I loved The Marinated Portobello Mushroom salad, the Eggplant Rollatini was very good and balanced between the eggplant and the ricotta cheese, and I think my favorite of the night was the Crispy Polenta perfect blend with the Parmesan cheese and it was crispy in the outside and nice and soft in the inside. I loved the event and I look forward to next one!
